AERC Alcohol Academy regional events

The AERC Alcohol Academy is funded to provide events for local alcohol coordinators and strategic leads across the country. The regional events aim to support the sharing of information & best practice, networking and skills development for alcohol leads.

North East Regional workshops

The Academy delivered regional workshops covering topics of alcohol and older people and cocaethylene in the North East on the 10th February. For presentations from the day see here.

The workshops were run in partnership with Balance, the regional alcohol office for the North East.


Brief interventions: commissioning and delivery skills

The Academy and London Joint Action Group for Alcohol will be delviering a symposium to explore and discuss issues facing the effective delivery of brief intervention projects and possible responses. See here for further information.

London launch event

The launch of the AERC Alcohol Academy took place on June 2009 in London with a one day event which included a series of workshops and speakers. The event was set up to pilot and deliver the academy’s objectives of facilitating networking and developing skills and learning for alcohol coordinators and strategic leads.

Regional event: Yorkshire & Humber

The second regional event took place in Leeds on the 11th November 2009, with a range of presentation topics covering health & treatment, community safety and children & young people issues.
